Golden Jubilee Memorial Kapela

The Golden Jubilee Memorial Kapela stands as a sacred monument commemorating the 50th anniversary of Lourdes Forane Church, Gandhipuram. It was constructed as a symbol of gratitude, faith, and divine protection during the church’s Golden Jubilee celebrations.

Construction and Blessing

  • Inaugurated on 21st December 2018
  • Blessed by Mar Jacob Thoomkuzhy, Archbishop Emeritus of Trichur Archdiocese
  • Permission granted by Mar Paul Alappatt, Bishop of the Eparchy of Ramanathapuram, Coimbatore

This Kapela (Chapel) was built to honor God’s blessings upon the parish over five decades and serves as a spiritual space for prayer and reflection for the faithful.

Architectural & Spiritual Significance

  • The Kapela is adorned with statues of St. Michael and St. George, positioned on either side, symbolizing protection, courage, and divine intervention.
  • St. Michael the Archangel, known as the defender against evil, represents the spiritual strength of the church.
