Mathursangam is a vibrant and faith-driven community within Lourdes Forane Church, Gandhipuram, dedicated to the mothers of the parish. This association functions as a spiritual and service-oriented group, fostering a deep sense of devotion, unity, and social responsibility among its members.

Guided by the Blessed Virgin Mary

With the Blessed Virgin Mary as their role model and guide, the members of Mathursangam actively participate in various church activities and charitable works. Inspired by Mary’s virtues of compassion, humility, and unwavering faith, the association strengthens the spiritual lives of mothers while contributing to the welfare of the parish.

Mission and Key Activities

1. Spiritual Growth and Community Prayer

• The members of Mathursangam gather at the church every Thursday for community prayer sessions, seeking divine guidance and interceding for the needs of the parish.
• Special rosary prayers, novenas, and devotional gatherings are organized to deepen their faith and devotion to the Blessed Mother and Jesus Christ.

2. Service to the Sick and the Needy

• Inspired by Christ’s message of love and service, Mathursangam members visit the sick, elderly, and underprivileged in the parish.
• They provide spiritual comfort, prayers, and moral support to those in need, sharing the grace and love of Jesus Christ.
• Occasionally, the group extends help through charitable donations, food provisions, and other forms of aid.

3. Active Participation in Church Events

• The association plays a vital role in the church's liturgical and social activities, assisting in feast day celebrations, Holy Mass preparations, and church functions.
• Members are actively involved in organizing fundraisers, cultural programs, and outreach missions for the growth of the parish community.

4. Guidance and Leadership

• Mathursangam operates under the guidance of the parish priests and the appointed Sr. Animator, ensuring that their efforts align with the spiritual mission of the church.
• Through faith-based discussions, retreats, and workshops, mothers are encouraged to become spiritual anchors in their families, instilling Christian values in their children and fostering strong faith-filled households.
