Parents Teachers Association (PTA)

The Parents Teachers Association (PTA) of Lourdes Forane Church is a dynamic and collaborative body comprising Catechism Teachers and Parents of the Catechism Students. This association serves as a bridge between the church’s catechetical team and the families, ensuring that the faith formation of children is holistic, consistent, and rooted in both home and parish life.

Purpose and Vision

The primary aim of the PTA is to foster a strong partnership between parents and teachers, united in their shared mission to nurture the spiritual, moral, and religious growth of children enrolled in Catechism. It emphasizes:

  • Building strong communication and cooperation between the teaching staff and parents.

  • Supporting children’s faith journey and moral development both at home and in church.

  • Creating a vibrant and faith-filled catechetical community.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • The PTA actively participates in planning and organizing catechism-related events such as retreats, exams, faith-based competitions, and spiritual gatherings.

  • It provides a platform for discussing ideas and feedback on improving Catechism classes and the spiritual welfare of students.

  • Parents are encouraged to be active partners in their children’s learning by volunteering, participating in PTA meetings, and being part of initiatives that reinforce Catholic values.

Guidance and Leadership

The association functions under the spiritual leadership of the Parish Priest and Assistant Parish Priest, who offer guidance and support to all PTA activities. Together with the Catechism coordinator and dedicated teachers, they ensure the spiritual well-being and progress of every child.

A Community of Faith

The PTA is not just an administrative body — it is a community of faithful who pray together, work together, and journey together in Christ. It reflects the belief that parents are the first teachers of faith, and through the support of the church, they continue that sacred mission with love and dedication.
